Pioneer Day Celebrations


Don’t even think about going out-of-town this weekend!  If there is one thing Weber County knows how to do, it is Pioneer Day celebrations!

We’ve rounded up the greatest list of all the good ‘ole fashioned fun you can have in and around Weber County.  So grab your bonnets, load up the handcarts, and set foot for an entertaining week!

Sunday, July 17th:

Monday, July 18th:

  • Horse & Hitch Parade & Picnic (7 PM, Washington Blvd 18th to 25th)*
    Come see every kind, color, breed and size of horse imaginable. Everyone brings their horses, wagons, and carriages and ride with hundreds of entries from throughout the Mountain West.  All participants are treated to a free picnic in the park following the parade.
  • Film Screening “Man from Snowy River” (7 PM, Ogden Amphitheater)*

Sunday, July 24th:

  • Slack (8 AM, Ogden Pioneer Stadium)

Monday, July 25th:

  • Children’s Parade (8 AM, Marshall White Center)*
    Route begins on 28th and Washington and ends on 25th and Washington.  All children are invited to participate for free and anyone who participates will receive a free day pass to the Lorin Farr Swimming Pool.
  • Pioneer Days Grand Parade (9 AM, Washington Blvd 30th to 20th)*
    The parade route begins on 31st Street, continues northbound on Washington Boulevard and ends on 20th Street. Come cheer for marching bands, service organizations, student body representatives from Ogden-area schools, and see a variety of floats, horse drawn carriages, antique automobiles, and youth dance groups.
  • PRCA Rodeo (7:30 PM, Ogden Pioneer Stadium)
    • 2015 Miss Rodeo Utah Coronation (8 PM)
    • Fireworks (following rodeo)
  • Film Screening “The Book of Life” (7 PM, Ogden Amphitheater)*
